Trixie Whitley
Feb 7, 2016
After showcasing her amazing talent with her participation in Daniel Lanois' Black Dub experimental project, Trixie Whitely continued to amaze with her 2013 debut solo effort, Forth Corner.
She now returns with Porta Bohemica, in which she continues to grow as a truly creative artist. Her natural ability to mix and blend styles places her into a category all her own and yet there is still a commercial appeal to her sound.
Whitley co-produced and co-wrote much of the material with Gus Seffert on Porta Bohemica. In addition to the focus track "Soft Spoken Words," you should pay attention to "Salt," "Closer," "Hourglass," "Witness" and "Eliza's Smile."
In a recent interview with Beat Magazine, Whitley said, "When I first started writing it was definitely introspective but with this album it was really an exercise that I was trying to take on for myself to write almost in a more narrative form."
Whitley will tour North America in March and early April, and then embark on an extensive European tour.
