Please outline your career path.
This is it!
1) What was your first job in radio?
Sundays 4-10pm
2) What led you to a career in radio?
A life of crime!
3) If you were just starting out in radio, knowing now what you didn't then, would you still do it?
Yes
4) Where do you see yourself and the industry five years from now?
Strugggggling!
5) How you feel about being asked to wait on a record you hear until the research validates it?
Because of my market size, I can live with it. I do understand that recreational music listeners take a little longer to accept a song. We (meaning people in the industry) are lot closer to music than most of our listeners in certain markets. So in a market like mine, where people are constantly moving in and out and are of different nationalities, I respect it. Sometimes you will have a record that you know will impact on arrival and when it's like that, I go in.
6) How do you feel about syndication? Does it affect significantly on the number of hours that you have control over the music that you play?
Of course it does.
7) Because of callout research are today's Urban and Urban AC programmers going to be slower in adding and playing new music?
I can't answer that. I've never had the pleasure of using that avenue of research.
What is the maximum number of spins a record in power rotation could be expected to receive in a given week on WFXZ?
50-58.
8) Of all the skills you have gained through the years, is there an area you'd like to improve?
Sure! All of them.
9) How do you account for and what effect do you feel the continuing ratings dominance Foxy-99 has is going to have on the Fayetteville?
What we do between the music and how much more we will do.
Do you feel there are going to be new challengers from other formats?
Of course!
10) As you look back over your career ... any regrets? Missed opportunities?
I just wished that I could've gotten here earlier in life. I know I would be better.
