Tha Carter IV has been pushed back from its original May 17th date. The original release date set for the highly anticipated Weezy album has been the talk of the town really since Tha Carter 3 was such a successful album, and the past year has really created a lot of buzz for this album.
Young Money president, Mack Maine, informed XXL that Weezy's follow up to 2008's multi-platinum selling Carter III LP will be hitting shelves on June 21st. It was also confirmed that the graduation photo of a pre-teenage Wayne, sporting his signature facial tattoos that leaked online earlier this week, as well, is the official cover art to the disc.
Lil Wayne has also revealed plans to release a documentary following his current "I Am Music" Tour. Cameras have been set up to film performances and backstage footage on select dates along Weezy's tour across the United States. "At that time when they put those movies out, we as the fans were interested in what they were doing on the road," the rapper said during a recent interview. "I just felt like a movie like that hasn't come out in so long ." "Nobody hasn't came around since then that was that interesting other than Young Money. It's going to be real major; it's going to be real big."
