Kat Dahlia

Cuban singer and newcomer Kat Dahlia, signed to Sylvia Rhone's new venture Vested In Culture/Epic Records, releases visuals to her buzzed about single "Gangsta" shot in her hometown Miami. The track is described as "a hip-hop Lana Del Rey crossed with the innate hardness of Rihanna".
Her erHvisuals take the song to the next level.
"I'm always trying to create because I feel like music is constant change," the 21-year-old says. "You're always trying to create something forward, something new...something that sounds good and once you've found that, you've nailed it.
On her decision to shoot in Miami, Kat explained, "It was really important for me to shoot this video in Miami because this is my hometown. I think that the richness and the culture, the colors, the story, it just felt right."
"Gangsta" reflects the hardships Kat faced while growing up in Miami. Juxtaposed between scenes of Kat in a dark, damp bedroom are vignettes of Kat in happier times, sitting on the side of an expensive vintage whip as she reflects on her life so far. We'd argue things are definitely looking up.
