Daniel Dewan Sewell better known by his stage name Danny Brown, is an American hip hop recording artist from Detroit, Michigan. Brown is known for his individuality, being described by MTV as "one of rap's most unique figures in recent memory." His 2011 album XXX, released for free online, received critical acclaim, earning him such accolades as Spin's #1 hip hop album of the year and Metro Times's "Artist of the Year".
Brown is back with another video for a track off of his forthcoming album,Old, called "Dip." The track is produced by his right-hand man SKYWLKR which samples Freak Nasty's 1996 single "Da' Dip." The chorus of "Dip" is an interpolation of Watch The Throne's "Niggas in Paris."
Old is the third studio album by the hip hop recording artist. The album was released on October 8th, under Fool's Gold Records. The album is Brown's first to be officially sold through music outlets and digital retailers, whereas his previous projects were self-released for free and made available online.
The album includes production from record producers A-Trak, BadBadNotGood, Frank Dukes, Oh No, Paul White, Rustie and SKYWLKR, among others. The album also features guest appearances from fellow artists such as Freddie Gibbs, ASAP Rocky, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Scrufizzer, Charli XCX and Purity Ring.
