Dustin Lynch
Thinking 'Bout You (feat. MacKenzie Porter)
(Broken Bow Records)
Dustin Lynch has teamed up with rising star MacKenzie Porter for this new version of "Thinking 'Bout You," originally released on his 2020 album, "Tullahoma," as a duet with Lauren Alaina. The song features a back-and-forth storyline of two ex-partners who reconnect over a phone call. The chorus goes, "I was just thinking 'bout that weekend out on Cumberland Lake / And that one time in Baton Rouge when we made out in the rain / Where we went chasin' fallin' stars on a hill at your daddy's farm / Don't be sorry for callin' me up right out of the blue / I was just thinking 'bout you." Written by Lynch, Andy Albert, Hunter Phelps and Will Weatherly, the song offers a fresh and contemporary sound, and a relatable situation. When talking about the addition of Porter to the song, Lynch revealed that she was chosen through a blind audition, and the two had never priorly met, but are now great friends. Either way, the vocal chemistry between the two is undeniable throughout the track, which runs at just two minutes and 50 seconds. "I wrote 'Thinking ‘Bout You' because for years I’ve been wanting to have a collab moment," said Lynch. "I just love the history that collabs have in Country music." Added Porter, "For me, being on this song was so cool because ... we all have that past relationship whether it's high school or college that we can always go back to, and you kind of miss them even if you aren’t together anymore. There’s always that one person that has that spot in your heart." Well said! Now it's time to make that spot on your playlist for this fan-favorite hit.

Jordan Davis
MCA Nashville's Jordan Davis will release a new EP, "Buy Dirt," on Friday, May 21st. The eight-song project is a follow-up to last year's self-titled EP and debut album, "Home State." Davis wrote every song on the new EP with the exception of John Prine's "Blow Up Your TV." The title track of the EP features Capitol Nashville's Luke Bryan. Watch an EP trailer detailing the new project here.
"I've always loved artists who take risks," said Davis. "I'm in a different spot in my life than I was when I released 'Home State.' We all are! 2020 was a tough time for everyone. I was able to use that time to recenter some things in my world, and I didn't want those lessons to go to waste. I wanted to create something special. The best way to that was to write honestly, and we did a lot of that on this record." (Photo: Eric Ryan Anderson)
