Jason Aldean
Broken Bow Records
Fly Over States
-
You know it's a great album when the fifth single is as strong as "Fly Over States." Aldean takes another future hit from his "My Kinda Party" album with this one, which pays homage to the many great states a traveler like Aldean should know well. Jason focuses on the lyrics in "Fly Over States." This isn't one of Aldean's rocking songs or and it's not a slow emotional ballad either. It's somewhere in the middle and yet I believe fans will still love this one. Impacting 2/6.

I have to admit that I am a sucker for this sound-kind of like, The Jayhawks meet Bruce Springsteen. The Dirt Drifters play with soul, combined by great harmonies and solid musicianship. "There She Goes," will have you cranking the volume after one listen or two. I thought this was one of the best bands of 2011. I am hoping that they breakout in 2012!
Impacting now.

Don't Miss Your Life
-
Phil Vassar has released a song that will make us all focus on the important things in our life, the people in our lives. Vassar said he wrote this song on a flight while he was missing his family at home and it certainly comes across sincere and impactful. Early stations are already reporting a big reaction to this one and it's easy to hear why it touches people. The production on this song is pretty but it doesn't overshadow the best part of this song, the message. "We all know time goes way too fast, Hold on tight cause it don't happen twice, Don't miss your life." Impacting now.

Dustin Lynch

Cowboys And Angels

I've always been a sucker for great traditional Country music, especially when the song is both traditional, yet up-to-date sonically, like this one is. Dustin can also sing his heart out, and the song has a big hook that enhances its chances. All in all, this is a fine first entry from a promising new artist. Impacting now.
