Garrett Borns, better known by his stage name BØRNS, is an American singer-songwriter from Michigan. BØRNS released his debut studio album, Dopamine on October 16, 2015.
Growing up in Grand Haven, Michigan, Borns immersed himself in arts. At the age of 10, he was a professional magician. By age 13, he had won a National Scholastic Art Award along with a college scholarship to the Kendall College of Art and Design (a part of Ferris State University) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
In his early career Borns performed under the name Garrett Borns and took part in a TEDX event, performing a variety of music on his ukulele. In 2013, Borns took a vacation from New York City, New York, where he was living, to Los Angeles, California. It was then that he called Los Angeles home. Within weeks of relocating, Borns wrote his single "10,000 Emerald Pools" with Jack Kennedy.
On November 10, 2014, Borns released his debut single, "10,000 Emerald Pools", on Interscope Records, along with the releases of his debut EP, Candy.
BØRNS has been touring and playing many festivals since the release of Candy. Between February 26 and April 1, 2015, BØRNS played 20 shows alongside MisterWives on MisterWives' "Our Own House Tour". On June 24, 2015, he was scheduled to play a headlining show at The Electrowerkz in London, England.
From July 21 to August 14, 2015 (excluding Lollapalooza weekend), BØRNS accompanied Charli XCX and Bleachers on their "Charli and Jack Do America Tour". BØRNS also performed at Lollapalooza on July 31, 2015. BØRNS is also scheduled to play at the Life Is Beautiful festival between September 25 and 27, 2015; and the Austin City Limits Music Festival between October 2 and 4, 2015.
On August 19, 2015, the release date for his debut album, Dopamine was revealed via social media as October 16, 2015. A new song from the album called "The Emotion" was also revealed on social media and YouTube.
