GARTH BROOKS SUIT CONTINUES
Garth Brooks’ lawsuit against Integris Hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma has been ongoing for years after Garth said the hospital didn't own up to its part of a deal after Brooks donated half a million dollars.
For Garth Brooks, this lawsuit isn't about money, but about honoring his late mother's legacy, Coleen Brooks, who lost her battle to cancer in 1999. He wants to do that by winning this lawsuit.
"Don't forget what this is all about. It's about my mom. It's about her honor," Brooks said.
Jury selection started Tuesday. When jurors walked in the court room, they were shocked to see - One, it was Garth Brooks. And two, to find out he was the one that brought forth the lawsuit.

According to court documents, the country star made a half-million-dollar donation to Integris hospital in Yukon back in 2005. Garth is suing because the hospital has not named a wing of the hospital for his mother as he says was the only condition he attached to the donation.
"We gave [the money] in return for having my mom's name put on a women's center," Brooks said.
JAKE OWEN TO UNDERGO SURGERY TODAY FOR BROKEN COLLARBONE
JANUARY CONCERT DATES RESCHEDULED
RCA recording artist Jake Owen definitely experienced some bad luck on Friday, January 13. Jake was snowboarding in Crested Butte, CO during the BMI Songwriter's Festival when he hit a 17 inch ice block, took a spill and broke his collarbone.
After being rushed to the ER in Crested Butte, Jake tweeted, "Just broke my collarbone. Guess I charged this mountain a little too hard." In addition, Jake told Storme Warren, host of GAC’s Headline Country who was covering the event, "Man, it wasn't like I was doing anything crazy. That's why this is such a freak accident but the reality is if you’re not falling, you’re not learning."
Jake flew back to Nashville as soon as possible. On Monday, January 16, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Thomas Dovan confirmed that Jake's collarbone suffered multiple fractures and he recommended scheduling surgery immediately. So today, January 17, Jake will undergo surgery to repair his collarbone.
Unfortunately, that means recovery time and weeks of rehabilitation so Jake was forced to postpone his January shows. According to doctor's orders from the Elite Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, Jake is expected to make a full recovery. His progress during rehab will determine when he will be able to start performing again. Jake says it will be sooner than later. “I’m so bummed that I have to postpone some shows but I promise you this, I’ll be back out on the road as soon as possible. I probably won’t be able to hold a guitar for a while but I can still perform.”

NEW MUSIC FROM JESSIE JAMES
NEW SINGLE HITS ITUNES JANUARY 31
Show Dog - Universal Music has partnered with Mercury/IDJ to release new music from Jessie James. “I remember hearing a demo on Jessie a few years ago and being very impressed with what a big voice she had for such a young girl,” said Mark Wright, President Show Dog - Universal Music. “I followed up, only to find that Mercury in New York had signed her. I was so excited to hear from my friend and colleague David Massey at Mercury that Jessie had always considered herself a country artist and would I consider joining forces with him to launch her into the country market. I am proud that SDU and Mercury/IDJ can jointly bring you this exciting, new, soon-to-be superstar.”
“It was an honor to work with such a legend like Mark Wright,” adds James. “Everything came together so easily and so natural with him. He is such a fun guy and we had a blast making this record; I'm glad to have the support of him and the Show Dog-Universal Music staff, they’ve become like family to me.”
