eMarketer Sees Double-Digit Growth For Online Advertising

Local online ad spending is expected to "show double-digit growth over the next few years, and will continue to increase its share of total local ad spending, according to a new report from eMARKETER," reports MEDIAPOST.
"Local online ad spending is growing as fast as -- if not faster than -- total online ad spending," said report author LAUREN FISHER. "National advertisers shifting dollars to follow the U.S. population online will largely fuel this growth."
Last month (NET NEWS 11/30), BIA KELSEY released data showing the radio industry has experienced only a marginal increase in over-the-air revenues in 2011, ending the year with projected revenues of $14.1 billion, a 1.2% increase over 2010. The industry realized increases in digital/online revenues and will end the year at $479 million, a 15% increase over 2010.
