CLEAR CHANNEL's HOUSTON AM talkers have shuffled their lineups, and the result, starting MONDAY (1/9), will have MICHAEL BERRY heard twice a day on News-Talk KTRH-A, and KTRH morning news block co-anchor MATT PATRICK doubling up with a new show replacing BERRY on sister Talk KPRC-A.
BERRY, already heard 5-7p (CT) on KTRH, will replace PREMIERE NETWORKS' GLENN BECK 8-11a on the station. BECK's show will move to the 10a-noon slot on KPRC, where BERRY has been hosting a 2-5p show. PATRICK will remain co-host of the KTRH MORNING NEWS with LOIS MELKONIAN and will take over the 2-5p slot on KPRC. MICHAEL GARFIELD has been hosting the 10a-noon slot on KPRC; he will move to noon-2p, bumping OUTLAW DAVE to 8-10p. DIAL GLOBAL's DENNIS MILLER moves to 10p, filling the slot left vacant by the demise of DOUG URBANSKI's short-lived WESTWOOD ONE show.
"We heard from KTRH listeners that they wanted more of the MICHAEL BERRY Show, and our goal is to provide listeners with programming they want to hear. Local talk is alive and well in HOUSTON," said BRYAN ERICKSON, Dir./AM Operations. "Going into a huge election year, and at a time when politics are on everyone's mind, this lineup reflects our listeners' passion.
"Our commitment to provide the best local talk and news content is stronger than ever. While most news operations around the country are downsizing, we're adding staff to our news team."
