RESEARCH IN MOTION announced at the CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW in LAS VEGAS TODAY (1/9), that two models of their BLACKBERRY phones will offer the ability to listen to FM radio.
MOBILEBURN.COM reports "the latest version of its BLACKBERRY 7 OS platform for smartphones. BLACKBERRY 7.1 OS, as the update is known, includes a number of new features and enhancements to the platform. The biggest new feature to come with BLACKBERRY 7.1 OS is the mobile hotspot capability. With Mobile Hotspot, users can connect up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices to their BLACKBERRY's internet connection at the same time. This is very similar to the mobile hotspot function available in iOS, ANDROID, and other platforms. The update also includes improved Universal Search complete with auto-suggest; BLACKBERRY Tag for leveraging NFC(INFO) to share contacts, media, and files; Wi-Fi calling where supported; an FM radio on the BLACKBERRY CURVE 9360 and 9380 smartphones; and a new version of BLACKBERRY Maps that displays special offers, coupons, and discounts from nearby vendors."
