Family Stations Sells 2 Translators To WAMU

FAMILY STATIONS, INC. is selling two FM translators, W228AM/FREDERICK, MD and W228AB/PARAMOUNT, MD, to AMERICAN UNIVERSITY for $100,000. The translators, which formerly rebroadcast FAMILY's WFSI/ANNAPOLIS (since sold to CBS RADIO and flipped to Tropical WLZL (EL ZOL 107.9)), will rebroadcast WAMU-HD-2/WASHINGTON's Bluegrass Country format.
In other filings with the FCC, the receiver for SPIRIT OF ALASKA BROADCASTING INC. is selling silent KWAP-A (formerly KMBQ-A)/WASILLA, AK to CHARLES F. DUNHAM's KENAI BROADCASTING LLC for $50,000. SPIRIT OF ALASKA, owned by JOHN KLAPPERICH, went bankrupt in 2010 and BOB WOODWARD was appointed receiver for the company.
JODESHA BROADCASTING, INC. is contributing KANY/MONTESANO, WA and SUNNYLAND BROADCASTING, LLC is contributing the construction permit for a new FM at ILWACO, WA to JOSH BROADCASTING, LLC, a new entity co-owned by JODESHA and SUNNYLAND.
TUNE IN BROADCASTING, LLC has applied for an extension of its Silent STA for WRUY-A/ROME, NY while it continues to look for a new studio location.
And FAMILY LIFE MINISTRIES, INC. has applied for a Silent STA for FM translator W238BB/CORRY, PA while it awaits closing of the sale of the station to RADIO PARTNERS, LLC and relocation of the facility.
