WOLT/Greenville, SC Debuts Spin-FM Format
January 16, 2012 at 8:16 AM (PT)
DAVIDSON MEDIA GROUP brokered Classic Hits WOLT (103.3)/GREENVILLE, SC is still a brokered station, but has literally spun the format wheel, debuting a new Top 40-targeted all mix format called SPIN-FM, a service of CHICAGO-based JAMTRAXX MEDIA, during a lot of hours in its broadcast week.
WOLT OM CRAIG DEBOLT is overseeing the station, but JAMTRAXX VP/Operations ROB AUSTIN is programming the SPIN-FM segments, with MIKE HORN of CBS Top 40/Rhythmic WBBM (B96)/CHICAGO doing imaging.
AUSTIN told ALL ACCESS, "For us this is a strong opportunity for a local station to try an exciting new format that's never been done before. The appeal and target is for 18-24 females and secondarily 18-34 females targeting the market's heritage (ENTERCOM) Top 40 WFBC (B93.7). This was a long time coming and we feel great about it, and it should do well in diary or PPM markets."
For now, the SPIN-FM format will air during the following hours:
SATURDAY 12mid-9a and 2p-9p
SUNDAY 12mid-6a and 7p-midnight
