Is Anonymous Facebook Threat A Hoax?

Is a threat by "hacktivist" collective ANONYMOUS against FACEBOOK legit? THE WASHINGTON POST says no, writing "Shortly after an individual posting under the ANONYMOUS banner shared a YOUTUBE video promising to target FACEBOOK on JAN. 28th, other ANONYMOUS members have said they don’t have any intention of targeting the social network."
The recent focus on ANONYMOUS began just hours after the U.S. government arrested the leaders of and shut down MEGAUPLOAD.COM, a popular hub for illegal file sharing (NET NEWS 1/19).
Then, over the weekend (NET NEWS 1/23), fresh off the initial Web attacks, members of the group took to TWITTER to claim accountability for an attack on CBS.COM as well as UNIVERSAL MUSIC and WARNER MUSIC.
The most recent threat against FACEBOOK is being denied by known ANONYMOUS sources. "A tweet from the AnonOps TWITTER account, which has correctly announced attacks in the past, denied the attack," wrote THE POST.
