KRMG/Tulsa Adds Afternoon News Hour, Shifts Rush, Hannity To Live
February 1, 2012 at 3:57 AM (PT)
COX MEDIA GROUP News-Talk KRMG-A-F/TULSA is shifting PREMIERE NETWORKS' RUSH LIMBAUGH and SEAN HANNITY shows up an hour to clear both shows live and make room for a local afternoon news hour, starting MONDAY 2/6). With LIMBAUGH now starting at 11a (CT), DIAL GLOBAL's NEAL BOORTZ will now run 8:30-11a.
The move includes the launch of "THE KRMG AFTERNOON NEWS WITH DAN POTTER," airing at 5p (CT) daily and anchored by former KRMG ND DAN POTTER, who is returning to the station full-time (he continued to host a weekend show, "OKFOODIE," while attending to family matters in TEXAS since 2010).
"KRMG listeners have told us they want us to be as up-to-the-minute as Talk programming. With this change, listeners will now be able to hear what RUSH and SEAN have to say about events as they happen, not one hour later."
"KRMG listeners have told us it's more important than ever for us to give them more frequent news, weather and traffic reports on their way home from work," he added. "So, we're taking action to address those needs as well ... JOE KELLEY has set the standard for Green Country news and information in the morning. I want to bring that same passion and commitment to afternoons, giving KRMG listeners the most up-to-date, accurate and dependable news, weather and traffic on their way home."
