Country icon WILLIE NELSON has signed a new deal with LEGACY RECORDINGS, a division of SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT. NELSON is no stranger to SONY, as he recorded many singles under COLUMBIA records from 1975 to 1993. The deal will include the release of newly recorded songs and performances, as well as archival releases. Under the agreement NELSON will put out five new albums, with the first to be released in the SPRING of 2012.
NELSON said, “I'm really happy to be back home with SONY MUSIC. We have been partners for many years; all the way back to PAMPER MUSIC and TREE MUSIC. We share a great history, and I'm looking forward to many more years together.”
LEGACY RECORDINGS VP/General Manager ADAM BLOCK added, “We couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to work with Willie on this landmark partnership. There's a natural and organic relationship between new recording projects and catalog activity that promises to ensure the lasting importance of WILLIE and his music."
