The war of slogans and cease-and-desist letters between CBS RADIO News WINS-A/NEW YORK and crosstown MERLIN MEDIA News WEMP (FM NEWS 101.9) appears to have come to a conclusion with WINS swapping out its former "NEW YORK'S One and Only All-News Station" slogan with "More people get their news from 1010 WINS than any other radio station in the nation."
As previously reported at ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 1/19 and 1/23), CBS served MERLIN a cease-and-desist letter over the latter's promos using a version of WINS' trademarked slogan "You Give Us 22 Minutes, We'll Give You The World," and MERLIN responded with its own letter charging that the "One And Only All News Station" liner was "patently false" since WEMP's move to the format in AUGUST 2011. With both WINS and WEMP having moved away from the offending liners, the matter appears to have been settled.
