Country great GARTH BROOKS celebrated his 50th birthday YESTERDAY (2/7) by surprising his longtime producer ALLEN REYNOLDS, at a gathering in NASHVILLE. BROOKS surprised REYNOLDS with the news that he was renaming a recording studio in his honor.
JACK’S TRACKS, where REYNOLDS has produced all but one of BROOKS’ albums, will now be known as ALLENTOWN STUDIOS.
“It’s a really emotional day for me,” BROOKS said. “My wife (TRISHA YEARWOOD) said, ‘It’s your 50th. Dream as big as you want.’ And I couldn’t find anything in my heart that I wanted to do more than to see this guy get a little bit of what’s due.”
BROOKS had purchased the studio from REYNOLDS two years ago and it’s original owner was COWBOY JACK CLEMENT. Also present at the party were CLEMENT, YEARWOOD, KATHY MATTAE, EMMYLOU HARRIS and STEVE WARINER.
