March 8, 2012 at 5:03 PM (PT)
CUMULUS Top 40 WWWQ (Q100)/ATLANTA has dropped the syndicated BILLY BUSH from nights, reports RODNEY HO in THE ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION. BUSH had aired in the 10p-1a slot since replacing ADAM BOMB in 2010.
But BUSH is gone from more than just Q100.
CUMULUS/ATLANTA OM ROB ROBERTS told HO in an e-mail that "the Top 40 station's corporate boss CUMULUS cut ties with BUSH's show system wide."
CUMULUS SVP/Programming JAN JEFFRIES confirmed the change to ALL ACCESS, saying "The BILLY BUSH SHOW is no longer affiliated with CUMULUS. We enjoyed our association with the show as we programmed the music and confirmed artist appearances with BILLY. Just as this show was a CUMULUS initiative, we have other exciting plans to be rolled out soon."
Worth noting that the BILLY BUSH SHOW is still on the at CUMULUS Hot AC WPLJ/NEW YORK, with a better time slot, from 7p-12mid.
DIAL GLOBAL Pres./Programming KIRK STIRLAND told ALL ACCESS, "BILLY BUSH is a terrific host that everyone knows, the show is filled with superstar guests, and we've got a great lineup of stations with solid ratings. Our programmers are at work now, and we'll soon have some enhancements that will make THE BILLY BUSH SHOW an even better nighttime alternative for current and future affiliates."
