A billboard war briefly erupted FRIDAY in LOS ANGELES between unlikely combatants -- a pair of noncommercial stations.
LA WEEKLY reports that SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PUBLIC RADIO News-Talk KPCC placed a billboard in the CAHUENGA PASS, close to the studios of PACIFICA Variety KPFK. Last FRIDAY morning, the KPCC billboard, which bore the slogan "Ideas ... not ideology," was defaced with "NEWS KPFK 90.7" covering KPCC's name and the slogan amended to "New ideas ... not the status quo ideology." The board also bore the spray-painted words, "Occupied by the local graffiti dude."
The graffiti has since been removed from the board.
