Doc Walker Renews With ESPN 980/Washington

RED ZEBRA BROADCASTING has inked former WASHINGTON REDSKINS tight end RICK "DOC" WALKER to a new three-year deal to continue hosting at Sports WTEM-A (ESPN980)/WASHINGTON. WALKER has been with the station for 15 years, most recently as co-host of former GEORGETOWN host JOHN THOMPSON's show. With THOMPSON leaving, WALKER will be part of a new 2-4p (ET) weekday show starting on MARCH 26th and will continue as part of the broadcast crew for WASHINGTON REDSKINS football.
VP/Programming CHUCK SAPIENZA said, "When DOC WALKER talks sports, WASHINGTON, D.C. tunes in to ESPN980 to hear what THE D-O-C has to say. We look forward to DOC continuing his long run at our station."
WALKER added, "WTEM is my home. I can not imagine being anywhere else and I look forward to bringing it strong for the next three years."
CEO RICK CARMEAN said, "DOC has become an integral part of WTEM and its success for the better part of 15 years. We are excited for him to be a part of the new show and our REDSKINS broadcasts."
