The LOS ANGELES COUNTY coroner's office has determined that WHITNEY HOUSTON died of accidental "drowning and effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use," USA TODAY reports. However, while the toxicology report also found marijuana and ingredients found in XANAX, FLEXERIL and BENADRYL, they didn't contribute to her death.
FLEXERIL is a muscle relaxant, while BENADRYL is an allergy medicine.
The singer was found in the bathtub of her BEVERLY HILTON HOTEL room on FEB. 11th, (NET NEWS, 2/11) a few hours before a pre-GRAMMY party where she was to perform. HOUSTON was 48.
The coroner's office also said the manner of death was an "accident." Confirming initial police reports, no trauma or foul play was found. The final coroner's report is expected to be released within two weeks.
