CHERRY CREEK RADIO Sports KUNF-A (SPORTS RADIO 1210)/ST. GEORGE, UT has added an FM simulcast on KXFF-K272AQ (THE FOX), which flipped from Classic Hits-Classic Rock on FRIDAY (3/30). The new combination is being called SPORTSRADIO ESPN, 107/102FM AND 1210 AM and adds a local show with ANDY GRIFFIN and JON OGELSBY weekday mornings 7-8a (MT) to accompany the existing local 4-6p show with DEVIN DIXON.
Market Manager TOM GLADE said, "Local news and sports broadcasting are both very important programming franchises, and by focusing our limited resources, we simply can better serve both our listeners and our advertisers. We have been, we are, and we will continue to be committed to live coverage of local high school games, as well as DIXIE STATE COLLEGE, BYU, and UTAH JAZZ sports. We know that the addition of 107 and 102 FM will help us accomplish that goal with clearer, louder and broader day and night time coverage."
Sports Director MIKE MCGARY added that in three years on the air with the Sports format, "We've accomplished a lot in that time, but the expansion to FM will allow us to get our coverage to even more of the sports fans here in our region. This is a big step for us, but we are not stopping here!"
