Lori Lewis On Socially Enhancing, Not Interfering With Your Brand

The FACEBOOK force of the Timeline design on "Like" pages last FRIDAY (3/30) was further proof of something JACOBS MEDIA Dir./Digital and Social Strategies and MERGE author LORI LEWIS communicates quite a bit -- that we "rent" this social space.
And because we will never control what the "landlord," MARK ZUCKERBERG will do next, we should be using the space we "rent" to strengthen the spaces we "own."
LEWIS says one way to do so is to "Create a visual brand identity. The absence of visual brand stories are missed opportunities to complement (and increase) the equity that is built through those speakers every day. When there's no discovery or no peek behind the curtain, you become just another ordinary brand in the social space."
