After 10 years of waking up SEATTLE, FISHER News KOMO-A-F's BILL YEEND signed off for the final time FRIDAY morning (4/13). YEEND is a vet of NORTHWEST radio, having previously spent decades at BONNEVILLE Talk KIRO-F/SEATTLE.
"When I heard BILL make the transition to news, I guess the word that came to mind was prototype," BILL RICE, a longtime SEATTLE newsman told THE SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER. "[BILL] is the guy. That is the way a news guy should sound."
"Co-workers say YEEND, a WALLA WALLA native, plans to spend more time on the golf game that also made him well known," reports THE P-I. "They say he also plans to take a road trip with his wife, CAMMY, whom he met at EASTERN WASHINGTON STATE COLLEGE."
