Multiple media outlets are reporting that ROADRUNNER RECORDS is going through significant downsizing as the label's sale to WARNER MUSIC GROUP is completed. GUN SHY ASSASSIN is just one source that reports that ROADRUNNER offices in ENGLAND, CANADA and GERMANY are being shuttered, with all of the respective employees being laid off.
BILLBOARD.BIZ estimates that 36 staffers -- 16 of them from its AMERICA division -- are being let go, as well as Founder/CEO CEES WESSELS.
"It’s true -- we are all out of a job," ROADRUNNER publicist KIRSTEN SPRINKS confirmed the news via Twitter. "So, it’s safe to say it’s a truly horrible day."
Another casualty is ROADRUNNER RECORDS/CANADA GM ROSE SLANIC; she's looking for her next opportunity. Reach her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
