CAPITOL BROADCASTING COMPANY is using another of its HD RADIO multicast channels to launch a fourth all-Sports station in the RALEIGH-DURHAM market, its third in English. THE TICKET will air on the HD-3 channel of Sports WCMC (99.9 THE FAN); the station's HD-2 channel simulcasts sister Sports WDNC-A (620 THE BUZZ), while the HD-4 channel simulcasts sister Spanish Sports WCLY-A (ESPN DEPORTES RADIO).
THE TICKET's lineup will consist largely of YAHOO! SPORTS RADIO programming, plus the third hour of PREMIERE NETWORKS' JIM ROME (the first two hours air on 620 THE BUZZ) and CAROLINA RAILHAWKS soccer play-by-play. It will also be an affiliate of the APPALACHIAN STATE UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS radio network for football and men's basketball.
"We are excited to bring Triangle sports fans, yet another sports radio option," said OM/PD JASON DIXON. "In addition to offering 'The TIM BRANDO Show' and the third hour of 'The JIM ROME Show," we plan to offer an expanded menu of local play by play events starting with our partnership with the RAILHAWKS. THE TICKET will also be a big player in the area of high school sports play by play."
