FCC's Genachowski Defends Budget Proposal Before Senate Panel

Testifying on behalf of the agency's proposed 2013 budget, FCC Chairman JULIUS GENACHOWSKI told a Senate Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government hearing WEDNESDAY (5/9) that "few, if any, federal agencies deliver a higher return on investment than the FCC."
GENACHOWSKI touted the value of spectrum auctions and the Commission's "Mobile Action Plan," and noted that the agency is proceeding with the NTIA to test spectrum sharing between commercial and government uses in the 1755-1780 MHz band.
The Commission’s is looking for a 2% budget increase to $346,782,000.
