CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WGY-A-F and Hot AC WRVE (99.5 THE RIVER)/ALBANY raised $564,022, an increase of more than 17% from last year, in its two-day 2012 edition of the Radiothon to benefit the CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AT ALBANY MEDICAL CENTER, airing MAY 3rd-4th. Sponsors such as regional grocer PRICE CHOPPER, FRIEHOFER'S baked goods and KEELER MOTOR CAR, as well as 180 volunteers worked on the project.
"The CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL offers vital services that, in many cases, are unique to our region," said DAVID A. CLARK, M.D., director of the hospital. "We are so appreciative to our media partners at WGY and THE RIVER for their continued support of this event, and to the community for once again reaching an unprecedented level of generosity."
"Our passion to support the Radiothon every year never fails to be matched by the heartfelt donations from our listeners," said CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT/ALBANY VP/Regional Market Manager KRISTEN DELANEY. "The daily stories of triumph and recovery from the CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL continue to inspire us in the endless commitment to meet the healing needs of local kids and families."
