Scott Van Pelt Agrees On New Deal With ESPN, Michelle Beadle Exits For NBC Universal

SCOTT VAN PELT has verbally agreed to a new multi-year contract to remain with ESPN as SportsCenter anchor and host of ESPN RADIO and ESPNEWS' "SCOTT VAN PELT SHOW."
On ESPN AUDIO's "FRONT AND CENTER" podcast, VAN PELT said that the decision-making process and being courted by other networks was "more stressful than I would’ve imagined. I always wondered what it would be like to be the pretty girl at the dance, so to speak, and to have people interested was something I never really imagined would happen, at least not like this."
While VAN PELT is staying, MICHELLE BEADLE, co-host with ESPN RADIO's COLIN COWHERD of ESPN2's "SPORTSNATION" and host of her own podcast for ESPN AUDIO, is exiting the network to join NBC UNIVERSAL as co-host with BILLY BUSH of "ACCESS HOLLYWOOD" and to participate in coverage of the 2012 LONDON OLYMPICS. USA TODAY reports that ESPN President JOHN SKIPPER confirmed the move, first reported in tweets by author JAMES ANDREW MILLER and SPORTS BY BROOKS' BROOKS MELCHIOR, at the network's upfront presentation in NEW YORK TODAY (5/15).
