HUBBARD News WTOP/WASHINGTON has been nominated for a regional Emmy Award for its 2011-12 TV commercial campaign. BROWN BAG CREATIVE's STAN MELTON wrote and produced the spots, with E.J. HASSENFRATZ handling animation. The winners will be announced at an event at the NEWSEUM in WASHINGTON on JUNE 16th.
"The campaign's concept was to promote 'traffic on the 8's' and in-car listening on WTOP but to do it in a fun way that didn't look like another 'news station' spot," said WTOP Marketing Director MARY KAY LEMAY WAUGH. "The two 15-second, animated commercials ran as bookends in morning news programming and depicted the commute to work and back home respectively. We're very excited and honored to have it recognized by our peers in the television arts industry."
