CLEAR CHANNEL has brought Alternative radio back to CLEVELAND. 99X, CLEVELAND'S NEW ROCK ALTERNATIVE signed on TODAY on translator signal 99.1 FM and a Rock WMMS-HD2 side channel. The market has been been without an Alternative station since CBS flipped WKRK (RADIO 92.3) to Sports last AUGUST (NET NEWS 8/4/11).
"99X fills the void in CLEVELAND radio for a new rock alternative music station," said Pres./Market Mgr. GARY MINCER. "CLEVELAND now has a new alternative voice which we are excited to offer to listeners on-air and to alternative music fans throughout the country on iHEARTRADIO."
OHIO MEDIA WATCH reports 99X is a 250-watt station originating from the tower of Classic Hits WMJI. The station can be heard at 99xcleveland.com on CLEAR CHANNEL's iHEARTRADIO platform.
