The FCC has issued a proposed $14,000 fine against DEBUT BROADCASTING MISSISSIPPI, INC. for power and tower violations at Urban Inspirational WNLA-A (GOSPEL 1380)/INDIANOLA, MS.
The station was observed in NOVEMBER by FCC agents running its 500-watt daytime power after dark, in excess of its post-sunset authority of increasingly lower power (in NOVEMBER, 70 watts at 5p (CT), 36 watts at 5:30p, and 26 watts at 6p. In addition, the agents said that the lights were out on the station's tower, and station personnel admitted at the inspection that they were aware of the outage, about which they had not notified the Commission as required by the rules.
