Industry veterans BRAD DAVIDSON and BEN SINGER will launch THINKSAY RECORDS on JULY 1st, with the label's first release from CHRIS WALLACE, formerly of the top-15 pop group, WHITE TIE AFFAIR.
DAVIDSON and SINGER first joined forces when they orchestrated the 2011 debut of artist ANDY GRAMMER, with DAVIDSON as SVP/Promotion of S-CURVE RECORDS and SINGER as Pres./CEO of SMG, representing GRAMMER. The two shared a run with GRAMMER at Hot A/C, leading to the artist's first two singles climbing into the Top 10 on the Hot A/C Chart.
In the process, DAVIDSON recalls the changes he perceived in promoting and the marketing of an artist in the often quickly dismissive digital age. "In today's competitive marketplace you don't win by being bigger and spending more. You win by implementing the best plan, based on the resources you have -- the most important being the artist’s ability to work, a shared vision, and making the best music," said DAVIDSON.
SINGER also found that building an artist's career in the today's music industry takes more than one song and massive ad spends, but also the ability to determine the specific artists in which to invest time and resources. "We aren't just signing a song. We're signing winners. Artists that we know will fight in the trenches with us - that not only match our passion and intensity but surpass them," said SINGER.
Together, DAVIDSON and SINGER have created THINKSAY, "a 360-degree business model" that adopts their business philosophy of substance before style and capitalizes on their combined of 20+ years of music business experience.
