WUSL Morning Show Held Last Interview With Rodney King

CLEAR CHANNEL Urban WUSL (POWER 99)/PHILADELPHIA’s “Rise And Grind Morning Show” was the last radio interview done with RODNEY KING before he passed.
The “Rise And Grind Morning Show” consisting of MIKEY DREDD, MINA SAYWHAT, UNCLE O and MUTHAKNOWS were saddened to learn that theirs was the last radio interview KING did before he died over the weekend. He was in PHILADELPHIA to promote his new book. KING, whose beating by the LOS ANGELES police in 1991 was caught on camera and sparked riots after the acquittal of the four white police officers involved, was found dead in his swimming pool SUNDAY.
During his visit with the POWER 99 morning show, KING talked about getting beat down by the police and what he has done since his settlement. REV. AL SHARPTON said, “RODNEY KING was considered a symbol of civil rights and represented the anti-police brutality and anti racial profiling movement of our time.” KING was 47.
