Univision/Dallas Spins Format Wheel At Three Stations
June 28, 2012 at 2:36 PM (PT)
TODAY at NOON (CT), UNIVISION RADIO/DALLAS shocked the market when it flipped formats at three of its stations.
Spanish Oldies KESS (RECUERDO 107.9) has become a 100% English-language Top 40 with the new moniker "H20 RADIO". All of the station's announcements and presentation is in English and is going up against CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 KHKS and CUMULUS Top 40 KLIF. This could well scotch rumors that CBS would flip one of its DALLAS stations to Top 40.
Sister Regional Mexican KFZO (LA JEFA) now airs KESS' Spanish Adult Contemporary format as "MAXIMA 99.1.
And the "LA JEFA" format now airs on sister KDXX (107.1) which was simulcasting "RECUERDO," and has a signal that's primary to FT. WORTH, with spotty coverage in DALLAS.
