SPANISH BROADCASTING SYSTEM has launched its morning show on the new WRMA (DJ 106.7)/MIAMI (NET NEWS 6/25), with DJ LAZ (LAZARO MENDEZ) (NET NEWS 7/2). The new radio station targets SOUTH FLORIDA's young Hispanic adults with a bilingual Top 40 format.
"I've been having a blast doing mornings in L.A., and when SBS offered me the opportunity to launch another radio station in MIAMI, I was excited for the opportunity to bring my talents back to MIAMI," explained DJ LAZ. "My partnership with SBS has now allowed me to branch my brand from the EAST COAST to the WEST COAST and I'm excited to be able to do mornings in both major markets. SBS is providing me with a wonderful opportunity to create an entertaining and positive program on the radio. I will be joined by experts, entertainers, musical artists and colleagues from all around the world. The show will be fun, upbeat, interactive and in-tune with the SOUTH FLORIDA community. Each show will be a new experience for listeners."
"As the U.S. Hispanic population continues to grow, SBS RADIO recognizes the importance of expanding radio programming that appeals to the unique tastes and styles of this diverse group," said SBS COO ALBERT RODRIGUEZ.
"We are very excited to introduce DJ 106.7 to SOUTH FLORIDA," added VP/Consolidated Sales Radio/TV MIAMI FELIX LOPEZ. "With this refreshment of the brand and format, we will meet the needs of the wide variety of Spanish and English speaking Hispanics in SOUTH FLORIDA."
DJ 106.7 fills out its lineup with new personalities LADY GIGI, DJ AFRICA joined by JASMINA "LATINA", and K-MARIE.
