The FCC has proposed an $8,000 fine on PBI, LLC for Emergency Alert System violations at Country KDDD-A and Oldies KDDD-D/DUMAS, TX.
The station allegedly did not have fully-working EAS equipment -- upon an inspection, the system could transmit but not receive tests -- and the station owner said that there was a problem with the antenna. In addition, the station had not logged the missing tests, which dated back to 2008.
In addition, the Commission is proposing an $8,000 fine against GENEVA WALKER for EAS problems at Classic Country WMAF-A/MADISON, FL. At an inspection, agents observed that the station's EAS equipment was not connected and the GM said it was not working, although when the GM attached the encoder, it worked. The station did not have logs showing why no tests had been received or sent.
