CC McCartney Dies At 70

Condolences to the family and friends of CC MCCARTNEY, who passed quietly SATURDAY, AUGUST 11th, 2012. Beloved family members stood bedside. MCCARTNEY was 70.
MCCARTNEY was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was known as passionate, generous and caring. He had several milestones and accomplishments in his career. Successfully programming many great radio stations throughout the '70s, including 96KX and KTLK in DENVER, and most notably, B-100 in SAN DIEGO.
MCCARTNEY was one of the first PDs to design and implement callout music research as an essential tool for radio. His successes in callout music research drove him to open his own research service in 1973: MJM RESEARCH. For almost 30 years, MJM RESEARCH deployed custom music research for top stations across AMERICA. After a debilitating stroke in 1998, MCCARTNEY sold MJM to his daughter, VALORIE HEYDMAN. To this day, she continues the MJM tradition of custom callout music research under the banner of VIP RESEARCH.
MCCARTNEY is survived by his wife, LEANN MCCARTNEY; daughters MELONEY COONS, VALORIE HEYDMAN; son JAKE MCCARTNEY; sister PATTI THOMAS; grandchildren NATHAN and COURNTEY COONS, NICHOLE MAYNARD and WHITNEY SUMMERS; his great-granddaughter, TEGHAN MAYNARD.
