Kellie Pickler Shaves Head Supporting Best Friend With Breast Cancer

Country artist KELLIE PICKLER has been supporting her longtime best friend SUMMER HOLT MILLER, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in JUNE 2012, through the prognosis and treatment. YESTERDAY (9/4), though, PICKLER went above and beyond by shaving her head alongside MILLER in NASHVILLE, TN to bring awareness to the importance of early detection.
PICKLER and HOLT exclusively revealed their buzzed heads and told their story on ABC’s “GOOD MORNING AMERICA” TODAY (9/5) to encourage women to be diligent about getting mammograms at every age.
“Cancer does not discriminate,” said PICKLER. “If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it,” added MILLER, who was only 36 when she was diagnosed.
