BIG MACHINE RECORDS artist TAYLOR SWIFT is donating to a school for the deaf who was the victim of an internet prank. SWIFT had a “VH1 Save The Music” contest in which students could vote for their own school to get a concert from TAYLOR SWIFT.
Meanspirited voting led to a win by HORACE MANN SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF in BOSTON, MA to have the concert, and although they were disqualified because votes weren’t from that school’s students, SWIFT donated money and concert tickets and invited the entire student body from the K-12 school to attend her next local concert. She is donating alongside partners CHEGG, PAPA JOHNS, COVERGIRL and AMERICAN GREETINGS for a total of $50,000 and “Save The Music” is donating $10,000 in musical instruments.
