CUMULUS MEDIA is buying Religion WFME/NEWARK-NEW YORK from evangelist HAROLD CAMPING's FAMILY STATIONS for an undisclosed price.
CUMULUS owns Talk WABC-A and Hot AC WPLJ in the NEW YORK market. WFME covers most of the NEW YORK metro from a tower in WEST ORANGE, NJ.
“This strategic acquisition of our second FM in the nation’s largest market will enable us to provide compelling new programming for our listeners and a powerful marketing vehicle for our advertising partners,” said CUMULUS CEO LEW DICKEY in a press release.
The company said that it expects to close on the station in fourth quarter 2012 and will announce format plans at that time.
