"AJ's Kids Crane," the annual toy drive created by CBS RADIO Top 40 KEGY (ENERGY 103.7)/SAN DIEGO personalities AJ MACHADO and HULA RAMOS -- returns to kick off the holiday season WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14-21. AJ will live high atop a 30-foot structure until the goal of 100,000+ toys is reached. San Diegans will be encouraged to donate a toy in exchange for various prizes and/or activities each day at the 11th Annual AJ’s Kids Crane.
The goal of AJ's Kids Crane is to collect toys for AJ's Kids Fund to benefit RADY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL. The toys are donated to the hospital to help the young patients feel more at ease while undergoing procedures or a stay at the hospital. The toys from the previous year have just about run out, making donations this year’s event even more crucial.
"Despite our difficult economy, San Diegans have always shown their generosity and we’re confident this year will be no exception." said AJ. "Something as simple as a toy can make the fear and pain of a child’s illness or injury easier to bare. The toys we collect now will brighten the lives of thousands of children receiving treatment at RADY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL over the next 12 months."
