WCCC Hartford Creating CD To Benefit Sandy Hook Elementary

MARLIN BROADCASTING Active Rock WCCC/HARTFORD is creating a CD to benefit the SANDY HOOK SCHOOL SUPPORT FUND. This is a fund created in conjunction with the UNITED WAY and NEWTOWN BANK.
UNITED WAY of WESTERN CONNECTICUT is committed to providing support and resources where and when they become identified and needed. This fund will be able to provide support services to the families and community that has been affected. 100% of the proceeds after expenses will go to the fund at www.newtown.uwwesternct.org.
This benefit CD project is being spearheaded by WCCC APD/MD MIKE KAROLYI, who is a lifelong resident of CONNECTICUT. "I have spent my entire 27-year broadcasting career in HARTFORD," says KAROLYI. "In my lifetime I cannot think of a CONNECTICUT tragedy greater than the one we just experienced at SANDY HOOK SCHOOL in NEWTOWN. One of the most consistent questions we are hearing is what can be done to help?"
KAROLYI is requesting record labels and band managers provide an acoustic recording from one or more of their artists to be included on the CD. "This can be a brand new song or something you already have recorded and ready to go," KAROLYI said.
WCCC has released six acoustic benefit CDs in the past supporting the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, FOODSHARE and others. Typically the CD includes 10 or more acoustic songs that were performed at WCCC over the past year.
"We will have some of those contributions this year as well but I am in need of more songs to make the disc complete," says KAROLYI. Contact KAROLYI at email@example.com or (860) 543-9887 and (860) 525-1069 if you can help.
