Rap artist CHIEF KEEF’s brother-in-law, GRISSENDANNER, was shot and killed last week in CHICAGO. He too, was an aspiring rap artist. He used the name “YPN BOOMTOWN,” and was related to CHIEF KEEF by marriage after CHIEF KEEF's father ALFONZO COZART, married YPN BOOMTOWN’s mother ARIDECY TATE, and later divorced in 2012.
According to preliminary police reports and CHIEF KEEF’s lawyer and grandmother, GISSENDANNER was gunned down in a car near 124th and Union Streets after visiting his uncle in West Pullman. He later died from his injuries at ROSELAND HOSPITAL. KEEF’s attorney, DENNIS BERKSON, said his immediate family did not recognize GRISSENDANNER or ALFONZO COZART as family members. BERKSON explained that CHIEF KEEF wasn’t friendly with GISSENDANNER and had no relationship with his father.
Funeral plans are pending.
