TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO and NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY have inked a three-year extension keeping WILDCATS football and men’s basketball on the station for three more years, through the conclusion of the 2015-16 season. WGN has been the flagship for NORTHWESTERN sports since 1996. DAVE EANET continues as play-by-play voice, with TED ALBRECHT handling football analysis and TIM DOYLE and JITIM YOUNG as analysts for basketball.
“The NORTHWESTERN Athletics brand has experienced substantial growth over the past several years due in part to the massive reach and presence of WGN RADIO,” said NORTHWESTERN VP for Athletics & Recreation JIM PHILLIPS. “We’ve been extremely proud to call the station home for 17 years, and to have a wonderful partner in telling the stories of our world-class student-athletes.”
“WGN RADIO is proud of the association with CHICAGO’s BIG TEN team” said WGN GSM/Interim GM JEFF HILL. “We are thrilled to continue to bring the excitement of NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY athletics to our listeners.”
