Study: Radio Contests A Net Positive
January 22, 2013 at 11:18 AM (PT)
Research conducted by MARK KASSOF & CO. has found that contests have a powerful net positive impact for stations. While a majority of people are unaffected by contests one way or another, contests have far more positive than negative impact."
Specifically, 40% of 18-64 FM or AM listeners say a contest would make a station "more interesting to listen to," while just 3% say it would make it "less interesting." And 34% say a station’s contest would make them listen to it more, versus only 2% who say it would make them "listen to it less."
These research findings are based on 608 online surveys of 18-64 year olds in the U.S. who have cumed an FM or AM radio station in the previous week. The survey was conducted January 10th-18th, 2013.
