CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES has added actor, author, Army veteran and "DANCING WITH THE STARS" champion J.R. MARTINEZ for SUNDAY evenings 6-8p (PT), starting this weekend (1/27). MARTINEZ replaces DAVID CRUZ, who continues handling afternoons on sister Talk KTLK-A and has added an hour to his show.
“He’s so inspirational and dynamic; he filled in for BILL CARROLL during the holidays and I just had to have him join our lineup! I’m thrilled he jumped at the opportunity and I’m excited to see what he will do with his own show,” said PD ROBIN BERTOLUCCI.
On his inspirational story of his recovery from severe burns and injuries from a roadside bomb while he served in IRAQ, MARTINEZ said, “I discovered it is what is inside a person that matters most and I wouldn’t change anything … absolutely anything! I do believe everything happens for a reason, and I'm extremely grateful for that day because it led me into this life!"
At KTLK, CRUZ now airs 3-7p, with DIAL GLOBAL's CLARK HOWARD 7-10p and NBC SPORTS RADIO 10p-2a. The station has dropped MIKE MALLOY's syndicated show and has moved PHIL HENDRIE to 2-3a.
