iPADS that have been "jailbroken" -- essentially de-constructed -- were discovered to contain a new set of files in the iPAD Music.app that have some variation of a "radio button," 9TO5MAC.COM reports. The iPad music app currently doesn’t have any radio functionality, which leads some to speculate that APPLE would be adding an iTUNES-like ‘traditional’ streaming radio to the iPAD. The Music app in "jailbroken" iPHONES do not contain these files.
Furthermore, some of the names of these button files are labeled with "buy" in the filename, offering a new functionality that would dovetail with rumors that APPLE would "take on the PANDORAS and SPOTIFYS of the world with its own ‘Radio’ service, and BLOOMBERG predicted a Q1 2013 (current) launch."
BLOOMBERG earlier reported that APPLE was in discussion with executives from UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP, WARNER MUSIC GROUP and SONY CORP.’s music division to discuss a streaming APPLE Radio (NET NEWS, 10/26), noting, "With sales of music downloads slowing, APPLE and record companies are seeking new ways for customers to discover and buy digital music."
